Annual Giving Campaign 2011 – We Thank You!

A special thank you to all of our friends and family that donated to last year’s Annual Giving Campaign. Because of your generous support we were able to renovate the school’s kitchen over the summer and started the year with a safer, more efficient and more cheerful kitchen that is used every day by our parents to prepare snack for the children.

5% of Sales to our School

It’s the perfect reason to pick up gifts for family, friends and your favorite teachers. Dash off to a movie or enjoy delicious dining at your favorite restaurant. Between November 14 and December 31, 5% of your total purchases will be donated as a holiday gift to our school!

Follow these simple steps to Stuff Your School’s Stocking:

Shop at the amazing stores and restaurants at The Americana at Brand in Glendale or The Grove between November 14 and December 31, 2011.
Take your receipts to Concierge Services and let them know which school you are supporting.
They will provide a check to our school in January 2012.

The 9th Annual Rose Scharlin Halloween Hullabaloo is Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 4pm-8pm.

Please join us at LA’s oldest cooperative nursery school for food, games, costumes, a movie and more! Doors open at 4pm and the movie starts at dusk. Tickets are $5 per person or $10 per family. C lick here for directions and to view our parking map as you will want to park in the back lot.

Our Fundraiser, the Taste of the Eastside, was a huge success and we would like to thank our sponsors including the restaurants that participated and those who donated items to our silent auction. We also want to thank all of you for attending this event and enjoying the delicious food on a gorgeous spring day!

Taste of the Eastside – May 15, 2011

Join us in the beautiful Barnsdall hilltop garden for an afternoon filled with amazing food, wine, beer and music. This event will showcase the best of independent restaurants primarily from the neighborhoods of Silver Lake, Echo Park, Atwater, Eagle Rock and Highland Park. Our taste-size portions let you sample many different restaurants and find new venues for eating out, while each participating restaurant will have the opportunity to provide samples of their signature dishes and discover new customers.

Our goal is to establish a yearly event that unites community members and business owners who share an appreciation for great food by showcasing the many new and unique food ventures on the East side of Los Angeles. In staging this community building event, all proceeds will be divided between a group of local non-profits including Barnsdall, SEE-LA and Rose Scharlin Cooperative.
